13 days passed.

13 days have passed since my last post. Sorry for the delay. Something though has irked me and I really do not wish to offend anyone, but I must talk about it.

On a recent episode of CSI Cyber it was talking about racism. I LOVE THIS SHOW, however the take the writers tried to go on really bothered me. If you watch the show hopefully you know what I am referring to.

When all of this had started I myself was feeling empathy for Shad Moss's (Bow Wow) character. I could only imagine how all of this was affecting him. I mean it had to be. He was one of the only characters that were black, and it was talking about racism against black people, and it was getting pretty harsh. The did go deep down into a dark place on this particular show. It was super unsettling to me.

I am white. However I have an Uncle, and cousins that are black, and they are blood, so this sort of this offends me greatly. It's not right to make anyone feel inferior, and HATE is wrong.

However, there was a line in the show that Brody (Shad Moss - Bow Wow) was speaking to Elijah (James Van Der Beek) out of hurt, frustration, and anger and said something along the lines of, "have you ever used that word even when singing your favorite song?" (may not be exactly as stated, please refer to the show for exact correctness). This bothered me because if it's offensive to sing your favorite song, then why sing it in a song I might enjoy.

I work with kids, and I know they get confused on a regular basis, as to why it's OK for some to say one word and not the other, whether that by race or religion. We have tones of cultures/races/religions where I work, and we are all very much a family, and try to respect one another but sometimes exclusions do happen.

Is it a radical thought to just stop doing things that divide us, like stop saying slang terms that are only OK for certain people to say? Is that really that hard to do? Like if it's offensive at all for one person to say it, then maybe no one should say it and that would make it easier to have it stop.

Racism exists because we still allow for it to exist. If we stop allowing it to exist, then it wouldn't!

Peace, love and light!
