Irish Tradition

No comments yet on my last post, so I'll wait a little longer before I write one of those specific topics. However there is something on my heart.

I've been in a tough but wonderful relationship for the past 8 years. I've been patiently waiting for them to propose to me. They know and we've talked about it a lot, but we do not currently have the money for rings or a wedding.

I've understood that completely and I've been waiting patiently. Recently a family member has come forward and has been willing to make me dress shopping, and venue looking. They want to help make my dream wedding a reality for the summer when I'm off.

I'm weary. I know my partner seemed upset because I said we were dress shopping but didn't tell them what type of dress shopping. They've been upset lately, so since my family member has come forward, I figure it should be me that comes forward to them.

I know they want to propose on their own terms and I am fine with them doing that but I remember my great Grandmother told me about an Irish tradition during leap year and that the women can propose instead. SO I'm trying to plan the perfect proposal, and in the end eill tell them that they can still plan a proposal once we get the ring, but until then I'd like to make the intention known and see if they will marry me.

So wish me luck. I've got to plan something out this week. IF any Irish lasses out there read this or even men to give me pointers PLEASE write me.

Peace, love and light.
